Coach spotlight: Tyler Hebert on Varsity standards

Ask around the Skadium hallway what defines Ice Rocks hockey and you’ll hear the same phrase: Varsity sets the standard. For Head Coach Tyler Hebert, that isn’t a slogan — it’s how practice starts, how the bench talks, and how seniors pull younger players into the fold.

Hebert’s Varsity staff — including assistants Terry Hebert, Alex Kem, Nick Robbearts, and Matt Boyle — pushes detail on systems while keeping the room accountable. Goalie coaches Alex Jones (Varsity) and Noah Steepleton (JV) keep crease work tied to the same compete level as the skaters.

On the JV side, Bill Sponsler’s group mirrors Varsity habits so the development path feels like one club, not two programs sharing a logo. That continuity is how Westfield hockey plans for deeper ISHSHA nights ahead.

Families new to the Rocks can meet the coaching directory on the About page. Questions about tryouts or feeder pathways belong on Contact or Recruiting — not rumor threads.
